Monroe High School

2015/2016 School Year

Dear Students and Parents:

Welcome to my classroom and my Teacher Page. My name is Karla Perez and I teach the core courses World History and Geography, U.S. History and Geography, and the elective courses Human Rights and Genocide and Understanding the Law. This teacher page is your one stop source for all the important information covered in class, so you should visit it regularly. To make your visits successful, let’s begin with a few important things you need to know about how to navigate this site.

If you click on the link in the navigation sidebar at the left for any of the courses I teach, you will find a Welcome message that contains information about that course’s overview, its goals, methodology, and what to do if you are absent. Please make sure to click on the appropriate link and read the Pacing Guides for your course for information on what will be covered when in Trimesters A & B.

If for any reason you are not in class, clicking on the My Calendar link in the navigation sidebar to the left will provide a link to daily classroom assignments and activities for anyone absent or anyone simply wishing to review what was covered or done in any given class.

And last but not least, if you click on My Links you will find several on-line news sources listed as well as other websites that students may find interesting.

If extra assistance is needed at any time, I am usually in my room or in the lower learning commons after school every day. If you have any questions or concerns, I can be reached by phone and voicemail at 265-3652 or by email at perez@monroe.k12.mi.us. Email is my preferred method of contact as it allows for more immediate and detailed communication.

Again, welcome to my class.

Karla Perez

Success!
