Knabusch Math & Science Center's Ponds

The two 5 acre ponds at the center allow the students to do aquatic studies.

Lake Erie

Knabusch Mathematics and Science Center has deep-water access to Lake Erie, and is about 500 meters from the lake. Lake Erie is one of the dominant ecosystems in Southeast Michigan, and in this context we believe that students should know about their local environment: Western Lake Erie and its watershed. Students have scheduled access to the lake through a partnership between Monroe Public Schools and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). NOAA docks a small research vessel at the center, and students are able to interact with scientists as they gather data on the lake.
