WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL . . . again!
We are once again excited to see all of our friends return to Raisinville School. The tragic consequences of the post spring break surge has presented a whole host of challenges over these last several weeks and I am proud to say that we not only met those challenges with the courage of a Roadrunner, but we excelled along the way. Once again we have reinforced the idea that together there is nothing we can’t do.
That being said, our excitement has to be tempered with the fact that there are still challenges ahead and we will continue to work together to meet those challenges and provide our students and families with the best educational experience possible.
We are working with our district office to share as much information as possible as it becomes available. These are some key considerations when we talk about returning to Raisinville School:
-
School starts at 8:41 AM but students arrive as early as 8:20 AM to get breakfast.
-
A staggered drop-off procedure will remain in place. PLEASE adhere strictly to this schedule in order to create a safe and orderly drop-off process. It is also important to follow the prescribed times to prevent a situation where waiting cars are blocking parking spaces for arriving staff. These procedures are found by following this link:
https://docs.google.com/
-
Box-style lunch and grab-and-go-style breakfast will continue to be made available free of charge.
-
Students will eat meals in their classrooms and still enjoy outdoor recess with their friends.
-
Masks securely covering the mouth and nose are a must at all times students are in the building. This will be strictly enforced.
-
Social distancing will be practiced with fidelity at all times, including in the hallways and playground.
-
During instruction when distance cannot be maintained, layered mitigation (masks, face shields, clear dividers etc.) will be used.
-
School officially ends at 3:38 PM. To accommodate those of you who will be providing transportation we will begin our dismissal procedures at 3:30 PM with a staggered pick-up schedule. PLEASE adhere strictly to this schedule in order to create a safe and orderly pick-up process. This procedure will be shared in a separate document.
-
Students will continue to bring their technology devices to and from school each day. These devices MUST BE FULLY CHARGED when students arrive at school to maximize their use as an instructional tool. Opportunities to charge them in the classroom will be limited.
-
While lockers will be assigned to students, we would like to limit the number of things that travel to school with students. They should absolutely bring their device each day. Any items that are not directly connected to instruction should stay at home.
-
It is critical that student health is monitored at home. If your child is not feeling well, THEY MUST STAY HOME. If you have any questions please call our school Health Care Liaison at the school office
-
The expectation is that all students will return to in-person learning. MPS has established an application process for those families who wish to remain remote for the time being. Please see MPS correspondence for that application.
Of course, as we work through the transition more questions will arise. Please do not hesitate to contact myself or our school staff with any additional questions or concerns. We are just so excited to see all the smiling faces back in our midst. We appreciate the phenomenal work you have done to support our students while they continued their learning at home and your patience as we work to ensure that we are able to bring our students back to school SAFELY!
It bears repeating that this pandemic situation has highlighted the simple fact that by working together there is no challenge we cannot overcome. This may be the greatest lesson any of us will ever learn, and it begs the question;
WHO’S GOT IT BETTER THAN US?
Welcome Back. . . . Again,

Dear Raisinville families,
In an effort to continue to provide effective support for our school family during this challenging time we have developed a revised Family Wellness Survey, similar to the survey we sent out earlier in the school year. Please visit the link below to find the survey and complete it at your leisure. This information will go a long way to help us develop and modify interventions to support your important at-home support of student instruction.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact our school office.

A member of our Raisinville family had a devastating house fire and lost everything. We have set up a collection event with several options to donate if you can. The different options include clothing, toys, household goods, and hygiene products. There will be a gray bin outside near the main entrance to collect donations. The bin will be out from Wednesday, May 12th until Wednesday, May 20th. There is also a GoFundMe page that you can access by following this link.
The sizes for the family are:
Mom: Size large-xl top and 10-12 bottom
Dad: still waiting on sizes
Boy 1: Size adult medium both top and bottom
He loves Legos, Science, anything he can put together, and games
Boy 2: Size small both top and bottom
He loves Chucky, Freddy... etc
Girl: Size 4T/5T
She loves babies, unicorns, mermaids and all things girly
This week the Child Advocacy Network(CAN) of Monroe County celebrated their annual Heroes for CAN nominees. A CAN Hero is anyone in the community who has made a significant contribution to the work of the local CAN Council this past year. This year Raisinville's very own Diana Staten was recognized for supporting the at risk youth of our community. From advocating for students and families with local agencies to organizing school events to support a welcoming and safe environment and strong families, Diana does it all. Her passion for students and desire to go above and beyond make Diana a hero every day! Congratulations!!
Please complete the following form if you expect to use the parent loop to pick your child up from school the majority of the time. This will help us organize the parent loop and get a jump on signs for cars. Information will be coming soon regarding our staggered pickup times, including half days. Thank you!!
Congratulations to MHS students Reece Lynch, Noah Boudrie, Luke Anteau, Evin Cooper, and Mitchell Carter, who were honored at the
SEC All-Academic Banquet this year! This banquet recognizes the top 5 students at all 14 high schools in the SEC. Students are chosen
based on overall academic progress including GPA and SAT score. Great job Trojans! We are very proud! #wearemonroe #trojanstrong
