Renaissance

The Monroe Middle School ‘Renaissance’ Program encourages excellence, improvement and citizenship.  Founded by educators in 1988, Jostens Renaissance is the first and only national education-focused program created to recognized and reward the academic achievements of students.  Its primary goals are to increase student performance and teacher enthusiasm, and raise the level of community participation in schools.

‘Renaissance Cards’ are issued to those students at the end of each Marking Period who have achieved GPAs in these ranges:

GOLD CARD                     RED CARD                    WHITE CARD                 BLUE CARD

   4.00                        3.5-3.9                       3.0-3.49                    2.5-2.99

In addition, students must have not been assigned an In-House or out-of school suspension; or received a grade of “I” or “F” during the Marking Period.

‘Renaissance Cards’ may be used to purchase merchandise at reduced costs from local businesses and for reduced admittance to many school functions.  In addition, students who have earned ‘Renaissance Cards’ will be invited to special functions and activities.
