Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to Mr. Riggs' community of learners! My name is Ronnie Riggs and I have been given the opportunity to work with your child during the 2014/2015 school year. I am looking forward to working with your child and helping them reach their full potential!
I am very excited to be a team member at Waterloo! In the time that I have been part of the Waterloo Community, the staff has been great and I can honestly say that we have a wonderful principal!
My mission as a teacher is to instill in my students the belief that they can become anything that they dream to be as long as they work hard, treat others with respect, and never give up. To accomplish this, I will promote a positive and safe learning environment and be open to new ideas and strategies. I also believe that learning is best attained using a hands on approach method of teaching. I will do this by incorporating activities and experiments that allow students of diverse backgrounds and abilities a chance to realize and achieve their goals.
This is most important! If I do not speak with you in person, do not speak with you by phone, or do not contact you by note or e-mail, please call me or stop by school and speak with me. We need to maintain an open line of communication for positive feedback, progress reports, and sometimes behavior concerns.
Thank you for your help. Making sure homework is completed and maintaining an open line of communication is critical to the success of your child! This is a huge year for academic growth. It is only TOGETHER that we can make it possible.
All classroom donations consisting of journals, tissues (Kleenex), hand disinfectant, wide ruled writing paper, pencils, dry erase markers, folders w/brads, ear buds, disinfectant wipes, and any other supplies will be greatly APPRECIATED!
A student with behavior issues will NOT be allowed to attend field trips! If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached at 265-5100.
