What is ART...?

Visual art is a means of communicating ideas and feelings using a unique set of processes. Visual art is a personal, expressive endeavor that involves the intellect, the emotions, and physical skills. It provides insight into an individual's thinking and experiences and is a visual record of past history.

The processes involved in creating in the visual arts include skills important to an individual's success in the workplace. The creation of artwork often involves collaboration, teamwork, and the respect for other's ideas as well as individual expression.

All students should have the opportunity to develop basic skills in the visual arts and possibly become proficient in an area of choice.

Art Curriculum

We celebrate each student’s individuality by exploring many creative approaches to a given situation throughout our Art curriculum. Beginning with basic color and shape recognition in young fives, elementary art introduces students to drawing, clay and pottery, painting, 3-D models, print making, art history and the influence of art on world culture.
