MHS sends 3 vocal acts to state

A soloist, a duet and a student-directed small choir from Monroe High School received excellent ratings in the recent Michigan School Vocal Music Association district solo and ensemble contest and have qualified to perform in the State Solo and Ensemble Festival March 19 in Howell.

          From Monroe High School, qualifying for the state festival were:

Soloist Madison Miller, a ninth grader, who sang “The Lilac Tree” and “Se Tu M’ami.”

The senior duet of Brittnee Avritt and Jenna Bolster who performed “O Savior Hear Me” and “Poor Wayfaring Stranger.”

Momentum, a student-led small chorus directed by 11th grader Zach Everly.  The group performed “Bist Du Bei Mir” and “Bile Em Cabbage Down.”
