MPS Employee Handbook: Office of Personnel & Labor Relations
Welcome to the Monroe Public Schools District. We are happy and privileged to have you as a member of our staff, and we are confident that you’ll find your employment with us rewarding. As a member of our staff you will play an important part in meeting our vision, mission, and goals of providing all students a high quality educational experience in a safe, healthy, and friendly environment. You will contribute to this by performing your job duties in a positive, efficient, productive, and professional manner and by working cooperatively with other employees to achieve our common goals.
This handbook is designed as a reference for all regular Monroe Public Schools employees covering a range of employee related issues. Information in this booklet pertains to all employees unless otherwise noted. In several areas, the language of the negotiated “Master Agreements” may be different from the wording in this handbook. In such cases, the Master Agreement language takes precedent.
The procedures and practices contained herein are subject to change based on changing conditions, experiences, and district developments. Each employee is asked to assist in the development of this handbook by notifying the appropriate supervisor when problems are encountered or improvements can be made in the overall management of the personnel function in the district.
As changes and/or revisions are made, such changes will be distributed to all employees for inclusion in the handbook. When a significant number of changes have been made, the entire booklet will be reprinted and distributed.
All employees are given notice that the handbook is not a contract of employment and is only issued as a means of giving general information to each employee.
