Attention juniors and seniors. Employers have been contacting me daily about our work-based learning program. If you are interested in relating your pathway to a hands-on learning experience where you would be trained, paid, and earn money, please call me at 735-2075 soon. We would like to send you for interviews in August so you could start by the time school starts. Also, if you already have a position, please call to discuss. Thank you. Mrs. Joni Weaks, Coordinator.
Work-Based Learning (co-op/internships) is a great program that allows students that have completed or will be enrolled in a class first semester from our Career & Technical Education programs:

- Marketing
- health occupations
- trade & industrial

You must have required class, good grades and attendance, transportation, and a positive attitude. Spots fill up fast, so take initiative and sign up soon. In preparation for Decision Day 2019, Lotus Leaf staff members, Madison Hardy and Jaylynn Struth, have made an interesting interactive map for all of our Seniors declaring their decisions! You just click on the peg on the map and it will open up a college, showing you all the students attending there and what their majors will be. AWESOME! It took lots of hard work and time to create such an interactive tool for our seniors to utilize. Thank you ladies - amazing job!
This is a Sister City Exchange program which is open to any Monroe County student in grades 9th through 12th grade. It is a 3-week program in July. You DO NOT need to know any Japanese! The cost is approximately $1800-$2300, depending on the airfare costs. It is a wonderful opportunity for any student! You will get to stay with 2 host families and experience the Japanese culture, including a tea ceremony, kendo and other traditional practices. You will get to visit Hiroshima as well.
