Last Wednesday, August 1, Cate Windelborn and five of her fabulous Monroe Choir students gave a presentation titled “Creating a Community of Kindness in Your Choral Classroom.” Cate was joined by Faith Avritt (2020), Zach Everly (2017), Brenna Hendrix (2019), Maisie Hoppe (2018), and Maddy McCollum (2018). The group spoke to choir teachers from all over the state of Michigan at the 46th annual MSVMA Summer Workshop in Lansing. Their presentation highlighted elements of the Monroe choir program that help to create a community of kindness. Topics discussed included fostering student leadership, choir council, choir buddies, choir camp, and student led groups.

April is Autism Awareness Month. The Monroe Autism Collaborative (MAC) is pleased to share a valuable opportunity for students, staff, community members and families to learn more about Autism and local resources available during our Autism Awareness event. Please share the attached with staff and encourage them to share it with students and parents.
Thank you for helping us celebrate Autism Awareness Month.
